Hemet Church of the Nazarene faces an unusual opportunity for future ministry impact. The 12-acre property at the existing location holds all the promise for making an eternal difference. While the first phase of building is completed, our mission has only begun.Dozens of new ministries can occupy the existing property seven days a week. Hundreds of people in this community will be able to connect regularly through outreach and discipleship ministries like Celebrate Recovery, children and youth programs and a growing network of small groups. The unexpected downturns in the real estate market and economy have changed the original plans for financing and purchasing this property. Our churchs leaders have decided the best option for now is to introduce a new three-year program of faith called The Next Step of Faith to pay down indebtedness, finish up some important projects and position our church for significant future growth.
Objectives
ObjectivesThis three-year plan offers an additional funding source for the original purchase and construction of this new property. The Next Step of Faith will...* Provide new funding for the payments on the new property * Free up resources for staffing for future ministry leadership* Allow for the development of new ministry programming* Extend future ministry impact through evangelism and outreach Two Methods for The Next Step"A cash offering and a 36 month commitment"A special Birthday Offering for Jesus will be collected in the Christmas Eve Service, along with the 36 month pledge cards. The final pledges and offerings will be totaled and announced on Celebration Sunday on January 15, 2012.
The Focus
The Focus for "The Next Step of Faith""Equal sacrifice...not equal gift."To give sacrificially means to be willing to give the best I can by giving something up for a greater purpose. While we cannot all invest the same amount, we can all sacrifice together. This way, we can all have an important part in this important and exciting step of faith. The amount you give is between you and the Lords guidance for you.For some, a sacrificial gift given over three years may be $1,000. For others, a sacrificial gift may be $20,000 or $50,000. As we all pray together and seek the Lords guidance, we believe the needs will be taken care of as we obey Him and sacrifice together.
Over and Above Giving
"Over and above giving"Over and above giving in The Next Step of Faith means your gifts need to be over and above your regular weekly tithes. The other ministries of our church must continue on while we work on generating an adequate funding source for the new property and for future ministry programs.OUR GIVING POTENTIALWe can give more than we think over 36 months.
